Frederico Boccardi, Ofcom

In this presentation I will explore opportunities for beyond 5G and 6G research and innovation at the intersection between technology and policy. I will cover the following areas: private networks, spectrum, hard-to-reach places, open network ecosystems and net-zero carbon emissions. I will build on our observations from early 5G deployments and 5G test and trial activities in the UK, and discuss technology and policy enablers that we believe are key for the new mobile standards to develop in a way to benefit the largest number of people.
